Ron Stevens, President

Ron Stevens has extensive experience as CEO of a local United Way that pioneered the shift to community impact, and as the coordinator of United Way of America's ITP program (which assisted local United Ways in accelerating their change process), and as a consultant to local United Ways on the journey to greater community impact.

As President of United Way of Santa Fe County (UWSFC) for 14 years, Ron led that organization through an extensive change from a traditional, underperforming United Way to one that received national awards for its community impact, marketing and resource development work.

Ron served as Director of Community Impact Services for UWA from 2003-2006, where he led and coordinated the Impact Transformation Partnership (ITP). The ITP worked with 21 local United Ways to assist them in their journey toward greater community impact. Ron also was deeply involved in developing the Standards of Excellence.

In 2006, Ron created ChangeWays with a specific focus on customized consulting services to local United Ways seeking to have a greater impact on important issues in their communities and to make organizational changes necessary to achieve that impact.

"Ron holds a depth of knowledge and understanding about how to improve United Ways' ability to impact community. He helped inspire our board and staff to implement new models - ultimately improving our true impact on the community."

Kerry Blume, President,
United Way of Northern Arizona

"Ron provided a wealth of information and experience and was able to ask our staff and volunteers the critical questions that helped us focus on what we needed to do to move forward. His understanding of United Way as a system, the potential of United Ways in the Community Impact model and his talents in facilitation and problem-solving have been critical to successfully transforming our United Way."

David Balch, President,

“As a United Way CEO Ron was an innovator, a results-oriented leader who added to the United Way movement's body of community impact and branding work. When he joined United Way of America, Ron became our lead consultant (and) ‘met us where we were,’ was sensitive to our needs and questions, and led a team which guided us to early success in the design of our new work.”
